TERMS OF SERVICE

First, it is very important to understand that while DivorceGuru, Inc. (“DivorceGuru,” “we” or “us”) will aid in the preparation of your divorce paperwork, under no circumstances should DivorceGuru nor any licensed attorney working for DivorceGuru be construed as your legal representative. In other words, by using our services, you acknowledge that no employee of DivorceGuru nor any contractor associated with DivorceGuru, whether an attorney or otherwise, represents you in your divorce matter. If you have a question about whether you are capable of representing yourself, you should consult with a licensed attorney to determine whether using a service such as DivorceGuru in lieu of obtaining representation will ensure that your rights are adequately protected.

In order for us to produce your divorce documents, we will ask you a series of questions. At no time do we review your answers for legal sufficiency, draw legal conclusions, provide legal advice, opinions or recommendations about your legal rights, remedies, defenses, options, or strategies. DivorceGuru is not a law firm and may not perform services performed by an attorney. DivorceGuru, its services, its forms and agreements, and the feedback on your paperwork provided by any attorney or paralegal associated with DivorceGuru is not a substitute for active representation by an attorney.

Second, DivoreGuru is only suitable for uncontested cases. In other words, by using DivorceGuru, you acknowledge that both you and your spouse will have to voluntarily sign the documents prepared by DivorceGuru in order to obtain a divorce. DivorceGuru does not assist in the preparation of paperwork for “default divorces” or contested cases.

Third, DivorceGuru offers its paying customers a limited guarantee based on the quality of the work-product generated by DivorceGuru staff. By using DivorceGuru, you acknowledge that you have read and understood the terms and conditions associated with the DivorceGuru limited guarantee.

Fourth, DivorceGuru does not offer customers a refund under any circumstances other than the limited exceptions described in the DivorceGuru guarantee associated with the unlikely event of the court's rejection of paperwork we have prepared. For clarity, once you have processed payment and begun the DivorceGuru questionnaire, you acknowledge that you will receive no refund for any reason other than rejection of your paperwork by the courthouse as set forth in our guarantee. And while we love to hear about reconciliation (i.e., you and your spouse get back together), this does not entitle you to a refund.

Fifth, payment of court filings fees is our customers' responsibility. By using DivorceGuru, you acknowledge that you are responsible for payment of all court filings fees. We will provide you with clear instructions regarding the checks that are payable to the courthouse. If you are a full-service customer, we will deliver your checks to the courthouse for you.

Finally, while we do our best to update the legal information contained on our website, and we strive to periodically update our book, A Complete Guide to Divorce in California with current legal information, the legal information contained on the DivorceGuru website and in A Complete Guide to Divorce in California is not legal advice and is not guaranteed to be correct, complete or up-to-date. Therefore, if you need legal advice for your specific problem, or if your specific problem is too complex to be addressed by our service, you should consult a licensed attorney in your county.
